Enrolment, fees, ratios, settling in and what's different at each centre — answered in plain English, by the people who'll actually be caring for your child.

01 General FAQs

How do I enrol my child at Little Leapers?+
Book a centre tour at your preferred location, complete our enrolment form, and our team will confirm your child's start date once a place is available. We recommend visiting in person so you can meet the educators and see the room your child will grow up in.
Is there a waitlist, and how early should I apply?+
Popular days — especially Monday to Wednesday — can fill months in advance, so we recommend joining the waitlist as soon as you know your return-to-work date or due date. Waitlist position doesn't guarantee a place; priority is given to siblings and families needing five days a week.
What age groups does Little Leapers care for?+
We care for children from 6 weeks to school age across four rooms: Nursery (6 weeks–2 years), Toddlers (2–3 years), Preschool (3–4 years) and School Readiness (4–5 years), each with an age-appropriate program guided by the Early Years Learning Framework.
What is the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) and how does it reduce my fees?+
The Child Care Subsidy is a Services Australia payment that reduces your out-of-pocket fees based on your family income, activity level and the hours of care used. It's paid directly to Little Leapers and deducted from your invoice automatically — you just confirm your enrolment through your Centrelink online account.
Is there a bond or enrolment fee?+
Yes — a one-off enrolment fee of [insert amount] plus a bond equivalent to one week's fees secures your child's place. The bond is held against your final invoice and is fully refundable, provided the required notice period is given.
What are your opening hours?+
Hours vary slightly by centre — see the opening hours listed under each location below. As a guide, our centres generally open at 6:30am and close at 6:00pm, Monday to Friday, and are closed on public holidays.
What should I pack in my child's bag each day?+
A labelled spare set of clothes, a broad-brimmed hat, a water bottle and any comfort item (dummy, blanket or soft toy) for sleep time. Nappies, sunscreen and bedding are provided, so there's no need to pack these unless your child needs a specific brand.
Do you provide meals, and can you cater to allergies or dietary needs?+
Yes — all centres serve breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and a late snack, prepared fresh on seasonal menus. Every dietary requirement, allergy or cultural preference is catered for once you provide a signed medical management plan where relevant.
How do you help my child settle in?+
Every new family is offered at least two orientation visits before the official start date, and each child is assigned a primary educator who leads their transition. We follow your child's cues — shorter days at first, familiar comfort items welcomed, and daily handover conversations so you know exactly how they went.
Are you open on public holidays or between Christmas and New Year?+
All Little Leapers centres are closed on NSW public holidays. Some centres also close for a short break between Christmas and New Year — check your location's calendar below. Full closure dates are shared in your enrolment pack each November.
What are your educator-to-child ratios?+
We meet the National Quality Framework: 1 educator to 4 children under 2 years, 1 to 5 for 2–3 year olds, and NSW's stricter ratio of 1 to 10 for children aged 3 and over.
What happens if my child gets sick or injured at the centre?+
Our first-aid qualified educators assess every incident immediately; for anything beyond minor bumps we call you straight away and follow our documented illness and injury procedure. Children with a fever, vomiting, diarrhoea or a contagious illness are asked to stay home for 24 hours, or as advised by NSW Health, to protect the whole room.
Is Little Leapers accredited under the National Quality Standard?+
Yes — all three centres are approved services under the Education and Care Services National Law and are assessed against the National Quality Standard by the NSW Early Childhood Education and Care Regulatory Authority. Ratings are displayed at each centre and can be checked on the Starting Blocks website.
What educational philosophy do you follow?+
Our programs are built on the Early Years Learning Framework, with an emphasis on outdoor nature play, language and pre-literacy skills, and school-readiness routines in our final year room.
How do I pay fees, and how often are they charged?+
Fees are charged fortnightly in advance via direct debit, with your Child Care Subsidy applied automatically. An itemised statement is available any time through our family app.

02 Bella Vista FAQs

Is Little Leapers Bella Vista close to Bella Vista Metro Station?+
Yes — our Bella Vista centre is an easy walk from Bella Vista Metro Station on the Sydney Metro Northwest line, making drop-off simple for parents commuting into the city or working nearby in Norwest Business Park.
Do you offer extended hours for parents working in Norwest Business Park?+
Yes — Bella Vista is our latest-closing centre, open until 6:30pm, and we offer a small number of early-drop-off places from 6:30am for parents with an early commute.
Is parking available at the Bella Vista centre?+
We have on-site parent parking bays for quick drop-off and pick-up, plus additional street parking nearby for orientation visits and tours.
Which schools do Bella Vista families typically transition to?+
Many of our School Readiness children move on to local Bella Vista and Norwest primary schools. Our final-year program is tailored to the routines these schools expect.

03 Riverstone FAQs

Does the Riverstone centre have outdoor space for nature play?+
Yes — Riverstone is our largest outdoor footprint, with a dedicated vegetable garden, mud kitchen and nature trail, reflecting the semi-rural character of the area and giving children plenty of room to run.
Is Little Leapers Riverstone close to local schools for the transition to kindergarten?+
Our Riverstone centre is a short drive from Riverstone Public School and Riverstone High School, and our educators build relationships with local kindergarten teachers each year to support a smooth transition.
Riverstone is growing quickly — are places still available?+
As one of Sydney's fastest-growing suburbs, demand at Riverstone is high, especially for full-time places. We recommend joining the waitlist as early as possible, particularly for Nursery and Toddler rooms.
Is there parking for drop-off at Riverstone?+
Yes, the Riverstone centre has a dedicated parent car park directly out front with clearly marked short-stay bays for drop-off and pick-up.

04 South Wentworthville FAQs

Do you support multicultural and multilingual families?+
South Wentworthville is one of Sydney's most culturally diverse communities, and our educator team reflects that — several speak a second language, and we celebrate cultural events throughout the year as part of our program.
Is the centre close to local community services?+
Yes, we're within the Cumberland Council area and work closely with local maternal health nurses and family support services, so we can connect new families with local resources beyond childcare.
